Nexus Mods

Labs

Experiments and prototypes. Built to explore ideas, learn fast, and have fun.

Collections LauncherResearch
Pick a game, pick a collection, download and play. Every version pinned, from the game build to each mod file.

Focus group feedback
What an invited group made of the demonstrator: tone, conduct, the topics that took over, and what came out of it.
ModForge icon
ModForgeExperiment
A guided mod creation studio in the browser. Walks through picking a game and forging texture, mesh, and audio replacements step by step.
Vortex logo
VortexExperiment
The Vortex mod manager UI running in the browser, the Electron renderer built for the web.

Image SearchExperiment
Search game screenshots with natural language. Describe a scene, like a dragon mid-roar, and matching images are found by meaning rather than filenames or tags.
πŸ”
File DetectorExperiment
Scan local files and match them against mods on Nexus Mods. All hashing runs in your browser, so nothing leaves your machine, and matched files can be copied into a tidy, renamed folder structure. Needs a Chromium-based browser for the File System Access API.
πŸ—œοΈ
Mod Archive ExplorerExperiment
Browse the contents of a mod archive without downloading it whole. Reads the archive index over HTTP range requests, so listing a 1.8 GB file costs a few hundred kilobytes, and single files can be previewed or pulled out on their own.
πŸ—ΊοΈ
Technical Strategy & RoadmapExperiment
Where the platform is going and what it costs to get there. The four pillars argue from premise to decision, the roadmap grid sets every item against a horizon, and the cost model exposes its assumptions as sliders you can move if you disagree with them.
πŸ›€οΈ
Strategic TracksExperiment
The company's strategy as a set of open-ended tracks rather than dated deliverables. Position says what starts before what, sub-tracks carry the work, and opening one shows the focuses beneath it with the deliverables and decisions expected along the way.
πŸ—‚οΈ
File Content SearchExperiment
Search the files inside mod archives by name, path, extension or size, through the public modFileContents GraphQL query. Every result links to its mod page and to the file itself.
Projects here may be purely for fun and experimentation, and may never graduate to production. They do not reflect any official stance of Nexus Mods, nor do they necessarily indicate future direction.
